PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Olivier De Troyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jermaine Liston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Liston has chosen Mama Said Knock You Out-LL Cool J as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jermaine Liston was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

De Troyer closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - De Troyer lands in his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

De Troyer gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
De Troyer closes this distance looking for a takedown but Liston circles away.
Liston drops De Troyer with a right and a left! Liston comes rushing in but De Troyer regains his composure and manages to keep Liston in guard.

De Troyer is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Liston avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Liston chips away with some ground and pound.
De Troyer seems to have got his legs back now.
De Troyer might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Liston throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as De Troyer works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

De Troyer working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Liston doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Liston manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

De Troyer is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Liston wants to pass the guard but De Troyer is keeping the position.
Liston really doesn't want to stay on the ground with De Troyer. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Liston has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing De Troyer to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Liston is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - De Troyer pulls down on the head and he's put Liston to sleep! This one is all over!
