The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carpenter fails with an attempt to clinch.
Trout throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Carpenter's head.

Carpenter forces Trout back against the cage and clinches.
Carpenter lands with a right to the head.
Carpenter tries a body shot but Trout blocks it.
The referee calls for Trout to work.
Trout has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Trout wants to break the clinch but can't.
Carpenter misses with the head strike.
Trout is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Trout looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Carpenter jumps guard and drags Trout to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Carpenter throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Carpenter controls Trout momentarily but Trout frees himself.

Jack Carpenter has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Carpenter turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Carpenter is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Trout has escaped the position, nice work there.
Trout tries to bench press Carpenter off him but Carpenter keeps the position.

Carpenter swings around for an armbar but Trout sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Carpenter's guard.
