PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Klubber Lang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sazh Blaskey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sazh Blaskey told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Klubber Lang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 1, fighting out of New York, Sazh Blaskey!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Anthony Taglia and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lang takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Lang takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Lang throws a shot from downtown. Blaskey moves away and avoids it.
Blaskey fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Blaskey throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Lang throws out a loose jab but Blaskey uses good head movement to avoid it.
Blaskey swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Blaskey uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Lang.
Lang bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Blaskey's head.
Lang takes a swing at Blaskey's ribcage but misses.
Lang bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Lang on the wrong end of a nice hook.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Blaskey fails with a takedown attempt.
Good exchange - Blaskey coming out on top.
Blaskey rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lang moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Lang gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Blaskey.
Sloppy strikes from Lang. Those never looked like landing.
Blaskey misses with a takedown attempt - Lang sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Klubber Lang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sazh Blaskey.
Blaskey rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lang moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lang looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Lang blocks a jab.
Lang throws a right and a left that both miss.
Blaskey misses the shot to the body.
Lang stuffs the takedown attempt from Blaskey. Blaskey gets slowly back to his feet.
Blaskey takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Blaskey ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lang moves away.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lang looks to land a left hand but Blaskey moved out of range nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Blaskey slips under a jab from Lang.
Lang tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Blaskey was well out of range. Poor timing from Lang.
Lang throws a lazy right hand but Blaskey sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Blaskey swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Lang throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Blaskey.
Blaskey throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Lang on the side of the head.
Lang uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Blaskey.
A big left from Blaskey misses.
Klubber Lang is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Blaskey lands a jab to Lang's midsection.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lang throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
A telegraphed right hand from Lang misses the target.
Lang misses with a left hand
and Blaskey counters with a nice uppercut.
Blaskey keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Lang.
Blaskey misses with a body shot.
A jab from Lang misses.
Lang moves away from the strike by Blaskey.
Lang moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.


It looks like Sazh Blaskey has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Blaskey looks to land a right hand but Lang moved out of range.
Lang jabbing away but nothing is landing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sazh Blaskey dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Sazh Blaskey's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Blaskey is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Lang.

Blaskey is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Lang's half guard.
Blaskey lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Blaskey is looking to advance position but Lang won't allow it.
Ground and pound from Blaskey.
Blaskey controlling the action here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lang is trying to stand up here but Blaskey is controlling him well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Blaskey looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Lang with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Blaskey is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Lang sees it coming and defends easily.
Blaskey not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Lang pushes Blaskey off but Blaskey dives into side control.
Blaskey tries to advance to mount but Lang denies him.
Lang gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Lang trying desperately to get to his feet.
Blaskey can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Lang is looking to escape.
Blaskey tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lang taking shots to the head.
Blaskey looking to control and managing it successfully.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Blaskey pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Lang really wants to buck Blaskey off and get back to his feet.
Lang on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lang tries to get out of the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Blaskey connects with a bit shot that sees Lang covering up! More strikes from Blaskey and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Blaskey is our winner by TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:53 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sazh Blaskey!
