Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rocko Guns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rocko Guns had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rocko Guns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chuck Liddell!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guns tries to close the distance and clinch but Liddell swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Guns scores with a hook.


It looks like Chuck Liddell has been cut.
Liddell showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Guns.
Guns throws a hook but Liddell blocks it.
Guns tries to close the distance and clinch up but Liddell swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Guns lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Guns.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Liddell is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Liddell gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Liddell gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Liddell apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Guns misses with a wild combination.

Guns bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Liddell pushes Guns off and gets back to his feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - Guns looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Liddell shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Guns as he avoids it easily.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Guns darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Guns is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Liddell has managed to free his arm - good work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


A telegraphed takedown attempt from Liddell is defended easily by Guns.

Liddell gets caught flat footed, as Guns shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Guns throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Liddell works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Guns wants to stand and escape but instead Liddell has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Liddell prevents Guns from getting back to his feet.
Liddell loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Liddell shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Rocko Guns seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Liddell throws a sloppy head kick and Guns moves out of range easily.
Liddell changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Liddell will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Liddell tries to clinch up but Guns circles away and keeps his distance.

Guns throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Guns moves in looking to clinch but Liddell pushes him off.
Liddell thows a left - swing and a miss!

Guns closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Liddell quickly recovers to half guard.

Guns throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Guns throws a strike but Liddell avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Guns looking to sit in guard and control but Liddell gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Guns manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Liddell manages to get himself to full guard.

Guns prevents Liddell from getting back to his feet.
Guns trying to control the position from guard on top but Liddell is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Liddell is looking to stand up but Guns isn't so interested in that idea.
Liddell has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Guns gets to his feet - Liddell follows without any prompting.
Guns doesn't manage to clinch there - Liddell circles away.

Guns darts in and clinches Liddell up against the cage.
Liddell is trying to drag Guns to the mat but Guns just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Rocko Guns has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chuck Liddell.

Guns has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Liddell uses from the top position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Liddell shoots for a double leg takedown but Guns sprawls well. He's pushed Liddell's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Liddell lands with a nice combination. Guns backs away looking to recover.
Guns takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Guns is looking to clinch but Liddell is avoiding it.

Liddell pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Guns back to the cage. Liddell follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Guns wants to stand but Liddell is controlling his posture from full guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Liddell has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Guns is working away from the top position though.

Liddell is defending against the submission attempts here by Guns.

Guns is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Guns missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Guns throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Guns is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Liddell makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Liddell.

Chuck Liddell has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Liddell is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Guns rolls with it to try and escape but Liddell cranks on the arm and Guns is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
