PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pang Kikbox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Drasko Silajevas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Steve Erwin and Damien Edna.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silajevas scores with a jab.
Kikbox tries a head kick but it misses.
Kikbox misses with a takedown attempt
and Silajevas counters with a stiff right hand.
Kikbox pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A shot to the body from Kikbox misses
and Silajevas connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Kikbox tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Silajevas swivels and escapes.
Kikbox takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Nice shot lands for Silajevas.
Kikbox tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Left hook, right uppercut from Silajevas.

It looks like Pang Kikbox has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Silajevas fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Kikbox looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Kikbox fails with the takedown
and Silajevas counters with a lovely straight right hand!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pang Kikbox. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kikbox is breathing heavily.
Silajevas smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Silajevas connects with a single shot there.
Kikbox throws a sloppy head kick and Silajevas moves out of range easily.
Silajevas scores with a nice head shot.
Silajevas lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kikbox shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Silajevas sprawls well. Silajevas wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kikbox gets slowly back to his feet.

Kikbox throws a wild body kick that Silajevas sees coming a mile off.
Silajevas lunges at Kikbox with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Kikbox's hand.
Pang Kikbox seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fighters circle momentarily. Silajevas darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Kikbox is rocked!
Silajevas pounces like a tiger and cracks Kikbox with a vicious hook! Kikbox is down but not out! Silajevas follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
