Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Klerk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcelo Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Klerk might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Get ready to TAP Aoki!. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Klerk looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Klerk is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Santos is just riding it out for now. Klerk eventually gives up the hold.

Klerk has control of Santos's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Santos regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Klerk swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Santos is now in Klerk's guard. A big mistake from Klerk there, giving up the dominant position!

Santos avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Klerk escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Santos gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Klerk is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Santos is aware though and is defending well.

Santos got a little sloppy there for a moment and Klerk has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Santos has managed to get both his arms back between Klerk's legs - danger averted.
