PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Zacharius Pendragon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and King Tut (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tut has chosen Rember the name as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 25 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Zacharius Pendragon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, King Tut!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pendragon fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Tut, pushing him back against the cage.

Pendragon breaks from the clinch.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Pendragon.

Pendragon tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Pendragon controls the position from side control.
Tut manages to get back to half guard.
Pendragon is pressing down on Tut's thigh, looking to free his foot. Tut is holding on for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pendragon is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Tut has managed to free his arm - good work.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Tut looking for submissions off his back.

Pendragon is working for a submission of some sort.
Pendragon is thwarting Tut's attempts to control the position.
Tut slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tut not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Pendragon gets to his feet. Tut looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Tut fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Pendragon looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Pendragon tries to clinch up.
Pendragon misses with a jab, cross combination.
Pendragon is breathing heavily.
Tut tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Pendragon tries to close the distance and clinch up but Tut swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Tut shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Pendragon eats them both and turns towards Tut to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Tut lands the left hand.

Pendragon drives through with a takedown into guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Pendragon is looking to advance position but Tut has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Tut working for a submission but Pendragon is keeping him at bay.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pendragon is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Tut has taken his back!

Tut is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Pendragon is really stuck here.
Pendragon is working hard here to advance position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Pendragon is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Pendragon tries to break free.
Pendragon tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Pendragon knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tut on the ground.
Pendragon is squirming around, avoiding Tut's attempts to control the action.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Pendragon tries to improve his position but instead Tut has taken his back!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

King Tut dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


A left lands for Tut.
Pendragon takes one to the side of the head.
Pendragon takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Pendragon darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Pendragon decides to stand up.

Pendragon forces Tut back against the cage and clinches.

Pendragon pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Tut slips a jab and a cross from Pendragon.

Pendragon looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Pendragon thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Tut to regain full guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pendragon wants to stand and escape but instead Tut has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Pendragon keeping moving, preventing Tut from controlling successfully.
Tut advances to half guard.
Pendragon tries to get to full guard but Tut has control of the leg.
Tut wants to take a breather but Pendragon is having none of it.
King Tut has got the better of the ground game so far.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Tut is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Pendragon defends it well.
Tut works his foot free and advances to mount.
Pendragon is trying to escape the mount.
Tut can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Pendragon is looking to escape.
Pendragon reaches up to try and control the position but Tut seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Pendragon rolls and tries to escape and now Tut has his back!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tut is hanging on to Pendragon's back as he tries to escape.

Tut sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Pendragon taps out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). King Tut!
