Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tamao Serizawa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tyson Wulf!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yukihiro Shimada and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wulf throws a nice looking combination but Serizawa bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Tyson Wulf seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Serizawa.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Wulf jumps guard but Serizawa stands there with Wulf around his waist. Wulf gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Wulf is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Serizawa pulls him back up using the underhooks.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Serizawa is trying to trip Wulf. He has hold of a leg but Wulf is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Serizawa persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Serizawa drops back looking for a leg! Wulf is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Wulf manages to kick Serizawa off! Serizawa jumps back into Wulf's guard.
Serizawa is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Wulf is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Serizawa forces his way into half guard.
Serizawa not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Wulf tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Serizawa frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Serizawa get's back to his feet.
Wulf tries to clinch but Serizawa is having none of it.
Serizawa circles away from the clinch attempt
and Serizawa counters with a takedown into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
A lull in the action here.
Serizawa has hold of Wulf's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Wulf tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Serizawa cranks the arm and Wulf screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Wulf, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Tamao Serizawa!
