The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Newking moves in looking to clinch but Roberts pushes him off.
Newking fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Roberts manages to avoid it.
Roberts blocks a jab.
Roberts blocks a low kick nicely.
Roberts swings for the body but Newking moves out of range.
Good work by Newking as he checks the leg kick.
Sam Newking seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Roberts throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Newking stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Newking looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Newking takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Roberts's jab looks to have found its range, popping Newking under the eye.
A decent looking cross lands there for Roberts.

Newking ducks right into an uppercut from Roberts.

It looks like Sam Newking has been cut.
Roberts throws a leg kick but Newking sees it coming and moves out of range.
Newking bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Roberts's head backwards.
Newking tries to clinch but Roberts is having none of it.
Newking takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Newking walks into a left hand.
Newking has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Newking there as he acknowledges the shot.
Roberts ducks under a wild hook from Newking.
Roberts circles away from the clinch attempt.
Roberts's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Newking connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Roberts scrambles back to his feet.
Roberts stuns Newking with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Newking is rocked!
Roberts cracks Newking with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Newking tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Roberts pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Newking is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
