And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Darko Ninkovich!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Sergei Dronov and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ninkovich throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Dank tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Ninkovich is in Dank's guard.
Ninkovich should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Dank utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Ninkovich trying to control the position from guard on top but Dank is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dank on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Dank tries to get out of the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Dank prevents a takedown attempt there.
Dank throws a head punch that misses.
Ninkovich working hard to break the clinch.
Dank is pressed up against the cage. Ninkovich has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Dank down to the mat. Dank avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Ninkovich is looking to stand up but Dank won't let him.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Ninkovich wants to get back to his feet but Dank passes into half guard.

Dank stands up from mount. Strange move.
Ninkovich tries to score with a low kick but Dank moves his leg out of the way.
Horrible takedown by Ninkovich or perhaps it was just good defense by Dank which made him look bad.
Trevor Dank has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Darko Ninkovich.

Ninkovich darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Ninkovich thows a huge punch but Dank dodges it nicely.

Dank might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Ninkovich is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Ninkovich thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Dank's head.

Darko Ninkovich showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Ninkovich shoots in for a takedown but Dank shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Ninkovich closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Dank's guard.

Ninkovich drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Dank dives on top into guard.
Dank has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Ninkovich is proving hard to escape from.

Ninkovich tries to pull guard but Dank holds him up against the cage and eventually Ninkovich drops back down to his feet.
Trevor Dank has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Darko Ninkovich.
Ninkovich manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Dank keeps control of Ninkovich as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Darko Ninkovich is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Ninkovich drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Well Ninkovich has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
