Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Hal Lelujah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cody Main (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lelujah kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Jesus can kick your A$$. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hal Lelujah!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cody Main!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, William Peck and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lelujah has managed to clinch.

Lelujah gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Main regains guard.
Lelujah stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Main swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Lelujah is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Main is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Lelujah is controlling him.
Lelujah slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Lelujah tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lelujah has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Main is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Main is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Lelujah working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Lelujah is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Main knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Main really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lelujah. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Main got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lelujah has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Main has managed to get both his arms back between Lelujah's legs - danger averted.
Lelujah manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lelujah has clasped his hands together around Main's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Lelujah goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Main rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Lelujah's guard! Nice work there by Main!
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Main gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Cody Main is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Main throws a big shot that misses.
Horrible takedown by Lelujah or perhaps it was just good defense by Main which made him look bad.

Lelujah tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Main finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Lelujah is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Main is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Hal Lelujah dominated that second round.
That's time! Lelujah's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Lelujah feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Main wants to stand up but Lelujah is controlling him.

Lelujah drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lelujah jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Main is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Lelujah is controlling him.
Main is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Lelujah pushes down on Main's leg and manages to get into half guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Main kicks Lelujah off and gets back to his feet.

Lelujah is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Main is just riding it out for now. Lelujah eventually gives up the hold.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.
Main misses with a few strikes there.

Lelujah clinches up against the ropes.

Lelujah gets control of Main's arms and successfully pulls guard. Lelujah will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Lelujah throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Main escapes and throws Lelujah's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Main has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
No joy there for Main, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Hal Lelujah.
Well Lelujah has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
