Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nathan Wood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Son (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sam Son is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nathan Wood!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sam Son!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Son swings for the body but Wood moves out of range.
Wood on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Wood throws a head kick that misses.

Wood has Son up against the cage in a clinch.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Son.
Son wants to get back to striking at distance but Wood won't allow it.
Wood lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Wood pushes Son back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Wood.
Wood doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Son blocks an uppercut.
Son has had enough of the clinch but Wood keeps him there for the moment.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Son lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Son jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Wood walks away with a smile on his face. Son gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

The fighters circle momentarily. Son darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Son scores with a one two! Wood had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Oh Wood is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Wood looks to land a body kick but Son moved away.
Son misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Sam Son seems to be getting the better of the standup.

That was a close second round but I would say that Nathan Wood will probably get the nod.
