PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Krzysztof Nowak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dic Cheddars (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys are coming into the fight with injuries so let's see if that has a bearing on the fight. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cheddars swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Nowak counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Nowak.

Nowak looking for a takedown.

Nowak drops down looking for an ankle pick but Cheddars pulls his leg out and moves away.
Nowak shoots in looking for a takedown. Cheddars tries to sprawl out of it but Nowak keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Cheddars manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

It looks like Dic Cheddars has been cut.

Nowak bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Cheddars is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Cheddars has momentary wrist control but Nowak slips an elbow through the middle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cheddars can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Nowak controls the pace.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cheddars wants to sweep here but Nowak controlling him for the moment.

Nowak shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cheddars but Cheddars pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Cheddars uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Nowak.

Cheddars darts in and clinches Nowak up against the cage.

Cheddars manages to break the clinch.
Cheddars looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Nowak closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Cheddars quickly recovers to half guard.
Nowak seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cheddars does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cheddars moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Nowak misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Nowak shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cheddars as he avoids it easily.

Nowak has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cheddars can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Nowak pushes Cheddars off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Cheddars tries to land a front kick but Nowak steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Nowak avoids the head kick by Cheddars.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Nowak shoots for a double leg takedown but Cheddars sprawls well. He's pushed Nowak's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Cheddars tries to bum rush Nowak with a series of wild strikes but Nowak uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Nowak takes a swing at Cheddars's ribcage but misses.

Dic Cheddars comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Cheddars has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
