The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pohjanala is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Skipper shoots in for a double leg but Pohjanala sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Pohjanala misses with a head kick.
Pohjanala throws a nice looking combination but Skipper bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Skipper shoots for a takedown but Pohjanala saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Skipper looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Pohjanala!
Pohjanala is trying to escape the mount.
Skipper moves to back control.

Skipper is looking for the choke from the back position but Pohjanala is controlling his hands well.

Skipper is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Pohjanala can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Pohjanala takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Skipper is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Skipper is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Skipper tries to reverse the position but Pohjanala maintains control.
Skipper manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Skipper is staying active underneath Pohjanala, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Skipper is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Pohjanala's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Pohjanala's back!
