Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Aleksandar Shalamanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paulo Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paulo Silva will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Aleksandar Shalamanov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Paulo Silva!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Shalamanov counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Silva takes the fight into the clinch.
Silva using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Shalamanov has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Shalamanov manages to pull guard.
Silva wants to stand but Shalamanov has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Shalamanov seems keen to control Silva's posture.

Shalamanov working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Silva doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Silva manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Shalamanov has his hands on Silva's head, controlling the position.
Silva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shalamanov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Shalamanov wants to sweep but no luck.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Shalamanov shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Silva napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Shalamanov wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Silva, who protects the arm well.
Silva is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Shalamanov asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Silva is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Shalamanov is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Silva's shoulder. That is not cool.

Shalamanov works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Shalamanov remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Silva seems a little lost for a moment, as Shalamanov dominates the positioning.

Shalamanov is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Shalamanov is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Silva tries to kick Shalamanov off but Shalamanov keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Shalamanov is working for a submission of some sort.
Shalamanov wants to free his trapped foot but Silva is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Shalamanov takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Shalamanov frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Shalamanov drives through with a takedown into guard.

Shalamanov decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Silva takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

and Shalamanov moves into the clinch.

Shalamanov wants the takedown. Silva is fighting it off but Shalamanov persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Silva's guard against the cage.

Shalamanov drops back, looking for a kneebar! Silva looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Silva looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Silva!

Silva is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Silva takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
