The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smart shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Eckies but Eckies pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Eckies throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Smart sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Eckies feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Smart's calf.

Smart shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Eckies pinned against the ropes. Eckies gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Smart drops down looking for an ankle pick but Eckies pulls his leg out and moves away.
Ericsson Smart seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Eckies fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Smart.

Smart tries to score a power double leg takedown but Eckies sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Smart somewhat.

Smart closes the distance and clinches up with Eckies, looking for a takedown. Smart pushes Eckies against the ropes but Eckies circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Smart takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Eckies throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Smart's head.
Smart gets cracked there but stands up to it.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Eckies uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Smart has time to react.
