Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dionzo Rowe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Luke Skylewalker!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, John Roberts and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rowe moves to clinch but Skylewalker breaks away
and Skylewalker counters with a series of strikes. Rowe will be more careful next time no doubt.
A thudding body kick lands there by Skylewalker!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rowe thows a body shot but no joy.
Rowe dives in and grabs Skylewalker's left leg, looking for a takedown. Skylewalker pushes down on Rowe's head and hops out.
Rowe misses with a takedown attempt - Skylewalker sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Skylewalker lands a head kick. Rowe smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Skylewalker tries a head kick but it misses.
Skylewalker leaves Rowe with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dionzo Rowe. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Skylewalker clinches up against the ropes.
Skylewalker breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A nice leg kick lands there from Skylewalker.
Rowe is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Skylewalker misses with a jab, cross combination.
Rowe wants to clinch up but Skylewalker keeps it at a distance.
Skylewalker lands with a slapping head kick.
Skylewalker feints and then cracks Rowe's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Rowe down.
Skylewalker changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Left hook, right uppercut from Skylewalker.
Skylewalker drops Rowe with a beautiful combination! Rowe stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Skylewalker is looking for the KO!
Rowe is rocked!
Skylewalker and Rowe are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Skylewalker throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Rowe into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Skylewalker knows it - he's on the ropes flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Luke Skylewalker!
