Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rayn McCarthy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anjolito Quintana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Quintana is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by The APL Song. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCarthy takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Quintana thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on McCarthy if he has to take too many more of those.
Quintana is looking to clinch but McCarthy is avoiding it.
Quintana shoots for a takedown but McCarthy saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
McCarthy lands with a nice combination. Quintana backs away looking to recover.

It looks like Anjolito Quintana has been cut.

McCarthy wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Quintana, who protects the arm well.
McCarthy tries to score with some ground and pound. Quintana controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Quintana is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

McCarthy has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Quintana has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Quintana holds on and takes a little breather.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Rayn McCarthy.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Quintana would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Anjolito Quintana has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
McCarthy is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
McCarthy is taking a breather. Quintana says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
