Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Felix Basilan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simon Phoenix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Phoenix's choice of entrance music: Oh la!!. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Basilan thows a body shot but no joy.
Basilan fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Phoenix is out of range.

and Basilan counters with a slapping leg kick.
Basilan throws a low kick, looking for Phoenix's leg but Phoenix calmly moves out of range.
Basilan fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Phoenix checks it well.
A looping hook to the body misses from Phoenix. Basilan does a little dance to reset his feet.

Basilan has Phoenix pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Phoenix is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Basilan - that's hurt Phoenix badly! Oh, another knee lands and Phoenix is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Phoenix doesn't seem to be complaining.
