PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Larry Carnitine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Tyler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carnitine comes into the arena with Doro Pesch and Udo Dirkschneider covering Breaking the Law blaring out of the sound system. Tyler has chosen Wrestling Machine as his entrance music. Mike Tyler will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tyler keeps the fight on the outside.
Tyler looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Carnitine closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Carnitine misses with a kick to the body.
Carnitine lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Carnitine looks for a takedown but Tyler sprawls well.
Horrible takedown by Carnitine or perhaps it was just good defense by Tyler which made him look bad.
Tyler takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Tyler shoots and misses
and Carnitine cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Carnitine keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Carnitine leaves Tyler with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Larry Carnitine has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Tyler.

Carnitine drives through and clinches with Tyler against the cage.

Tyler pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Tyler tries for a takedown but Carnitine sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Tyler displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Carnitine.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tyler closes the distance and clinches up with Carnitine, looking for a takedown. Tyler pushes Carnitine against the cage but Carnitine circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Tyler looks gassed!
Carnitine fails to land with a series of punches.
Tyler will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Tyler keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Tyler changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Carnitine looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Carnitine is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Tyler really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carnitine. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Carnitine is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Tyler's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Tyler's back!

Carnitine has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Tyler is in real trouble here. Carnitine gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Tyler is tapping out! Carnitine wins by rear naked choke!
