Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Collin Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Collin Jones!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, James Atkins and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones misses with a looping left.
Evans ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Jones is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Jones throws a one two combo.
Jones fails with an attempt to clinch.

Jones shoots in and gets a takedown into Evans 's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Evans pulls Jones in close to prevent any damage.
Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Evans . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Evans keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully.

Evans is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Evans seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Marcus Evans .

Jones is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Jones tries to work over Evans 's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Jones tries to stall but Evans uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Jones has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Evans clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Jones tries to keep control of the position but Evans is staying busy.
Jones might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Evans kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jones is trying to stick to Evans 's back but Evans is turning into Jones. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Jones's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Evans .

Evans working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Evans controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Evans postures up in Jones's guard and throws a big left but Jones blocks it.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jones can do anything to dispel that myth.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Evans with a nice head shot there.
Evans is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Jones shoots in for a double leg but Evans sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Jones looks gassed!
Evans blocks a leg kick.
Jones slaps away a takedown attempt from Evans , before circling back to the center of the mat.
Evans fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Evans throws the kick towards the body but Jones avoids it.
Jones shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Evans sprawls well. Evans wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jones gets slowly back to his feet.
Marcus Evans has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Collin Jones.
Evans fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jones manages to avoid it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Evans misses with a body shot.
Evans throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Jones sees it coming and avoids it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Marcus Evans will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and Evans counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Jones!
Marcus Evans overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Evans postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Jones looks a forlorn figure.

Evans takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Evans cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Jones is breathing heavily.
Evans tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Evans is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Jones has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Evans fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Evans controlling the pace for now.

Evans with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Jones is bucking up trying to escape but Evans cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Evans seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Jones for as long as he can get away with.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Jones seems to have recovered his senses.

Evans shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Evans is taking a breather. Jones says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Evans not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Evans controlling the action here.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Marcus Evans wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Jones tries to clinch up but Evans circles away and keeps his distance.
Evans tries for a takedown but Jones sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
No joy there for Evans , who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Evans tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jones swivels and escapes.

Evans has taken the fight to the clinch.
Evans can't get the takedown.

Jones has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Evans is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Marcus Evans is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Jones takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

The referee is keeping an eye on Evans - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Evans shoots in looking for a takedown but Jones manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Evans 's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Evans will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
The fight stays on the outside here - Jones looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Jones tries to keep at a distance but Evans has taken the fight into the clinch.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Evans just misses with a elbow thrown towards Jones's brow.

Jones jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Evans walks away with a smile on his face. Jones gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Jones closes the distance but Evans moves to the side

and Evans counters by moving into the clinch.

Evans has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Jones clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Evans is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that's the end of the fight!
Marcus Evans showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Evans , winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
