The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gesta misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Gesta gets caught napping as Dodson dives in and scores a takedown. Gesta manages to retain guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Gesta is looking to stand up but Dodson isn't so interested in that idea.
Dodson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gesta. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Gesta controls Dodson momentarily but Dodson frees himself.

Gesta has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Gesta wants to control from the top but Dodson keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mercito Gesta wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Gesta shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Dodson is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
