The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mann scores with a jab to the head.
Sloppy strikes from Mann. Those never looked like landing.
Mann lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Akiyama at a distance.
Mann swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Akiyama blocks a low kick nicely.
Mann doesn't manage to clinch there - Akiyama circles away.
Mann's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Mann duly obliges.

Mann jabs Akiyama to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Yoshihro Akiyama seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Akiyama shoots for a double leg takedown but Mann sprawls well. He's pushed Akiyama's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Nice takedown defense from Mann. No joy for Akiyama on that attempt.
Akiyama looks gassed!
Mann throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Akiyama dodges the punch combination from Mann.
Akiyama looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
