PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Randy Orton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paulo Machado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Orton comes to the cage accompanied by BOOM by P.O.D.. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Randy Orton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Paulo Machado!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, William Peck and Trevor Gratis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Orton throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Orton shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Machado eats them both and turns towards Orton to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

It looks like Paulo Machado has been cut.
Orton attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Machado clobbers Orton with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Orton throws out a loose jab but Machado uses good head movement to avoid it.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Orton is looking to clinch.
Decent striking displayed by Machado there.
Orton shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Machado but Machado pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Orton throws a right hand that misses
and Machado counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Machado ducks under a wild hook from Orton.
Orton throws a hook but Machado blocks it.
Orton throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
The fight stays on the outside here - Orton looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Orton takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

The fighters circling - Machado throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Machado fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Machado fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Orton looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Orton thows a body shot but no joy.
Machado swinging wildly here.
Orton tries to move into range but Machado moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Machado ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Orton shoots in looking for a takedown. Machado tries to sprawl out of it but Orton keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Machado manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Machado shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Orton misses with a body kick.
Orton misses with a wild combination.
Orton works the jab nicely.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Orton fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Machado avoids it really well and circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Randy Orton. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Orton needs to keep his hands up - Machado had a free shot at his head there.
Orton takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Randy Orton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Machado punishes Orton's body with a nice straight punch.
Machado lands a slapping body shot.
Orton is breathing heavily.
Orton throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

Orton tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Machado paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Orton takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Orton misses the jab.

Machado connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Orton changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Machado tries to avoid it but Orton manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Machado to the ground. Machado escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A left lands for Machado.
Nice jab there from Machado.

Machado stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Orton is rocked!
BOOM! Machado lands a beautiful left hook that drops Orton. Orton tries to recover but Machado is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Orton lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
