The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Elley tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Elley throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

McLay fails with a takedown attempt.
Elley throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
McLay looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Elley is fending him off so far but McLay persists. Nope, Elley circles away and we're back to standing.
Elley lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Elley throws a head kick but McLay moves out of range.
Both fighters circling a little - Elley finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Elley throws a combination but it was largely blocked by McLay.
Elley throws a head kick that misses.
Elley lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Elley.
Elley throws a good cross that connects.
Elley throws a sloppy head kick and McLay moves out of range easily.
Stephen Elley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McLay shoots in but Elley avoids the takedown attempt easily.

McLay shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Elley is trying to defend but McLay finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. McLay connects with a nice short shot to Elley's temple.
McLay throws a strike but Elley avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
McLay really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

McLay seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Elley is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
