Nice takedown defense from Wright . No joy for Houle on that attempt.
Houle fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Wright sprawls well initially but Houle persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Wright is in trouble now - Houle has advanced to mount!
Wright tries to lock up and control but Houle gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Wright is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Houle locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Wright is forced to tap!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Devin Houle!
