PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bill Brasky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gage R (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bill Brasky!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gage R!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brasky throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Brasky walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. R checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Brasky misses with a wild combination.
Brasky throws a low kick but R avoids it.
Bill Brasky seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brasky showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from R.
R throws a lazy right hand but Brasky sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Brasky displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as R throws out the jab.
R throws a hook but Brasky blocks it.
Sloppy strikes from Brasky. Those never looked like landing.
Brasky gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Brasky ducks under a wild hook from R.
Brasky goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Brasky tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but R paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Brasky throws a jab but it's blocked by R.
Brasky scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Brasky tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.

and R counters with a one-two to the body.
Brasky misses with a wild combination.
R moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Brasky swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Brasky moves forwards but R connects with a nice, crisp jab.
R scores with a body shot.
Bill Brasky is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
R dives in and grabs Brasky's left leg, looking for a takedown. Brasky pushes down on R's head and hops out.
Brasky throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Nice defenses there by Brasky.
Brasky avoids the head kick by R.
Brasky swings for the body but R moves out of range.
Brasky fakes the leg kick and cracks R in the body.
R uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Brasky.
R swats away the attempt to clinch by Brasky.
R looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Brasky takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Brasky tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Brasky avoids the head kick by R.
R throws a hook but Brasky blocks it.
Brasky fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but R is out of range.
R misses with a hook
and Brasky counters with a leg kick.
Brasky cracks R with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Brasky misses with a looping left.
R throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
R throws an overhand right that lands on Brasky's shoulder, as Brasky tries to avoid the shot.
R might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
R displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
R ducks under a wild hook from Brasky.
Brasky looks to land a left hand but R moved out of range nicely.
Brasky just misses with a punch to the body.
A head kick misses from Brasky.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A thudding body kick lands there by Brasky!
R misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Brasky thows a body shot but no joy.
R shoots in looking for a takedown. Brasky tries to sprawl out of it but R keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Brasky manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Bill Brasky has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gage R.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

R shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Brasky is trying to defend but R finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
R prevents Brasky from improving his position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Brasky gets full guard.
R stopping the sweep attempt from Brasky.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Gage R will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


R jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
A chopping leg kick lands by Brasky.
R uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Brasky.
Brasky just misses with a punch to the body.

R looking to score a takedown here. Brasky is defending well but R drives through and ends up in Brasky's guard.
R in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
R stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Brasky swivels though and keeps the full guard.
R with a flurry of punches that miss.
Brasky has momentary wrist control but R slips an elbow through the middle.

Brasky escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. R gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
R lands a couple of elbows.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Brasky throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
R won't allow Brasky to get back to his feet.
R postures up.
R trying to control but Brasky is working from the bottom.
Brasky avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Brasky utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
R showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
R trying to control the position from guard on top but Brasky is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Brasky working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from R.
Brasky is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

R is looking to work some ground and pound but Brasky has wrist control.
R throws a big right hand that misses.
R looking to sit in guard and control but Brasky gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
R lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Brasky!
Brasky manages to regain half guard. Good work.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Brasky regains full guard. Nicely done.
R scoring with some ground and pound.

Brasky looking for a guillotine here but R defends easily.
R scoring with punches to the head and body.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
R wants to control from the top but Brasky keeps moving.
Brasky wants to sweep here but R controlling him for the moment.
R has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
R pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Brasky is keeping the position for now.
Gage R has got the better of the ground game so far.
R is working Brasky over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.


Brasky is rocked!
R working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Brasky's head.
Oh Brasky is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
R loads up on a big left hand. Brasky felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - R looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Brasky can't hide his disappointment, as R celebrates the victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gage R!
