The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ribeiro swats away the attempt to clinch by Khali.
A punch combination from Khali misses.
Khali throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Khali moves into the clinch.

Khali breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ribeiro looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Khali is fending him off so far but Ribeiro persists. Nope, Khali circles away and we're back to standing.
Khali misses with a hook. Ribeiro ducked under it nicely.
Khali tries to clinch up but Ribeiro circles away and keeps his distance.

Khali moves into the clinch successfully.

Ribeiro tries to pull guard but Khali holds him up against the cage and eventually Ribeiro drops back down to his feet.

Khali's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Khali throws an off balance right hand

and Ribeiro decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Khali's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ribeiro cracks Khali with a solid left hand.

Khali is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Ribeiro is controlling him.
Khali is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Ribeiro landing some decent shots from guard.
Khali wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Ribeiro manages to pass to side control.
Ribeiro looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Khali tries to kick Ribeiro off but Ribeiro keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Khali is trying to stand back up but Ribeiro is controlling him
Khali looks gassed!
Ribeiro working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Ribeiro seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Khali is looking to escape.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ribeiro connects with a nice short shot to Khali's temple.
Khali is in trouble now - Ribeiro has advanced to mount!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ribeiro scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Ribeiro lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Khali hang on?

Ribeiro is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Khali is surviving well by controlling Ribeiro's body position as best he can.
Khali is trying to stand.

Ribeiro is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Ribeiro!
