Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tom Sawyer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 9 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Macapinlac Co!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sawyer is looking to clinch but Co is avoiding it.
Co throws a hook but Sawyer blocks it.
Co will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Co throws a combination that misses
and Sawyer counters with a three punch combo that has Co backing up. Co nods at Sawyer to acknowledge the strikes.
Co throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sawyer.
Sawyer tries to clinch up but Co circles away and keeps his distance.
Sawyer wants to clinch up but Co keeps it at a distance.

Co tries to keep at a distance but Sawyer has taken the fight into the clinch.
Sawyer is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Co stalling the fight.
Co gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Sawyer.
Co is pressed up against the cage. Sawyer has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Co down to the mat. Co avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

and Sawyer counters with a nice body kick.
Co keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Macapinlac Co is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Co counters with a straight right hand.
Co throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Sawyer is looking to clinch.
Sawyer tries to clinch but Co is having none of it.
Nice defenses there by Sawyer.
Sawyer closes the distance and clinches up with Co, looking for a takedown. Sawyer pushes Co against the cage but Co circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Co throws a quick inside leg kick.

Sawyer shoots in and bounces Co off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Sawyer advances to half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Co keeping hold of Sawyer's head, controlling as best he can.

Sawyer is trying to control the action in half guard but Co is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Sawyer is really struggling to control Co but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Co avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Sawyer.
Co is looking to escape.
Sawyer is trying to control. Co wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Sawyer looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Co is trying to stand up here but Sawyer is controlling him well.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Tom Sawyer.
Co throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Sawyer stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Co misses with a body shot.
Sawyer shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Co as he avoids it easily.
Tom Sawyer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Co tests Sawyer's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Sawyer looks to land a combination. Co sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Co misses with a left hand

and Sawyer counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Co is staying active underneath Sawyer, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sawyer wants to work for an arm triangle but Co is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Sawyer is breathing heavily.

Sawyer is looking for a kimura here.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Sawyer stops Co from getting back to his feet.
Sawyer wants to pass to mount but Co is defending the position.
Sawyer missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

Sawyer is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Co sees it coming and defends easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sawyer is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Co!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

No joy there for Co, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

and Co takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Sawyer looks for a takedown but Co sprawls well.
Sawyer tries to clinch but Co is having none of it.
An inside leg kick lands from Sawyer.
Co scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

Sawyer has taken the fight to the clinch.
Co tries to land a knee to the head but Sawyer blocks with his arms.
Co tries a body shot but Sawyer blocks it.
Co tries to throw a body punch but Sawyer avoids it by throwing Co back against the cage.
Sawyer has Co pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Co manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Co is trying to force a seperation but Sawyer has the dominant position.
Co throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Sawyers head.
Co tries a body shot but Sawyer blocks it.
Co misses with a hook to the ribs.
Co lands a nice uppercut.

Co's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Sawyer keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

The fight stays on the outside here - Sawyer looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Co takes a swing at Sawyer's ribcage but misses.
Sawyer tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Co swivels and escapes.
Co throws a series of punches but Sawyer moves out of range.
Sawyer shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Co counters with a series of strikes. Sawyer will be more careful next time no doubt.


Sawyer is rocked!


It looks like Tom Sawyer has been cut.
Co misses with a straight right.
Co thows a body shot but no joy.
Sawyer gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Co counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Oh Sawyer is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
A head kick misses from Co.

Oooooh!!! Co has knocked Sawyer down with a huge combo! Co steps away and waves a wobbly Sawyer back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Co fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Co with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Co connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Co with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Co ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sawyer moves away.
Co cracks a nice hook into Sawyer's ribs.
Sawyer has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Co.
Co thuds his right hand into Sawyer's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
No joy there for Co, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Co throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Co throws a right hand that Sawyer ducks under and follows up with a left that Sawyer also avoids with ease.
Co tests Sawyer's chin there with a solid looking shot.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Co throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
No luck for Sawyer with that takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Macapinlac Co showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Tom Sawyer's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Co throws out a loose jab but Sawyer uses good head movement to avoid it.
Sawyer seems to have got his legs back now.

Co tries to keep at a distance but Sawyer has taken the fight into the clinch.

Co lands with an overhand left.

Sawyer tries to work over Co's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Co has had enough of the clinch but Sawyer keeps him there for the moment.
Co lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Sawyer shoots in and drives through. Co sprawls well.
Sawyer looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Sawyer walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Sawyer closes this distance looking for a takedown but Co circles away.
Co lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Co connects with a picture perfect right hand that knocks Sawyer out cold! This one is over in a flash!
