Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Miguel Salazar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mario Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rua comes into a darkened arena with his song building. The Chase kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Miguel Salazar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mario Rua!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Salazar shoots in looking for a takedown but Rua manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Salazar's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Salazar slips under a jab.
Rua wants to clinch up but Salazar keeps it at a distance.
A nice leg kick lands there from Rua.
Salazar cracks Rua with a right hand to the side of the head.
Rua stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Rua works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Rua moves in looking to clinch but Salazar pushes him off.
Rua misses with a hook.
Salazar shoots in looking for a takedown. Rua tries to sprawl out of it but Salazar keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rua manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Salazar is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Rua.
Miguel Salazar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rua gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Salazar's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Rua's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Rua defending well as Salazar loads up on a big left hand.

Rua connects with a nice looking jab.
Salazar digs a good body shot into Rua's ribs.
Salazar lands a nice shot that snaps Rua's head back.
Rua fails in his attempt to clinch.
A big left from Salazar misses.
Salazar missing with a left hand there. Rua was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Rua drives through and clinches with Salazar against the cage.

Rua decides to pull guard.
Salazar preventing the sweep.
Rua is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Salazar trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Salazar content to stall in guard here.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rua is trying to hold Salazar in close to prevent damage but Salazar has managed to pass into half guard.
Rua holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Salazar landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Rua keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Rua controlling the position for now.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Salazar trying to control from half guard but Rua is working away.

Rua is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Salazar has latched onto it... Big trouble! Salazar pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Rua is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Salazar!
