PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Ferrari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jyn Karinzo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ferrari comes to the cage accompanied by Single Ladies - Brazilian Version. Karinzo has chosen BLUNT - Self Medicated as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Marcus Ferrari has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Marcus Ferrari seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 2 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, Marcus Ferrari!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jyn Karinzo!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Paul Aken and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ferrari wants to clinch.
A big right from Karinzo misses.

Ferrari has taken the fight to the clinch.
Ferrari lands a nice knee to the body.
Ferrari crunches a lovely knee into Karinzo's ribcage.
Ferrari connects with a nasty looking knee right to Karinzo's face.


It looks like Jyn Karinzo has been cut.
Karinzo wants a takedown.
Karinzo struggles to land a body shot inside as Ferrari controls his hands.
Karinzo can't find room to land a body shot as Ferrari controls the action.

Karinzo breaks from the clinch.
Ferrari tries to land a front kick but Karinzo steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Karinzo looks to land a right hand but Ferrari moved out of range.

Ferrari keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Ferrari checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Karinzo is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Ferrari.
Ferrari tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Karinzo paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Ferrari defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Karinzo.

and Karinzo cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
A slow jab from Ferrari misses its intended target.
Karinzo shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ferrari sprawls well. Ferrari wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Karinzo gets slowly back to his feet.
Ferrari throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Ferrari fails with an attempt to clinch.
Ferrari throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Ferrari clinches up against the cage.
Ferrari unloads a knee to the mid-section. Karinzo lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Ferrari keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Karinzo's efforts to push away.
Karinzo is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Ferrari is keeping busy.
Ferrari using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Karinzo has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Karinzo escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Marcus Ferrari is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Ferrari turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Karinzo swats away the attempt to clinch by Ferrari.
Ferrari lunges at Karinzo with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Karinzo's hand.
The fight stays on the outside here - Ferrari looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Ferrari doesn't manage to clinch there - Karinzo circles away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Karinzo throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Ferrari tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Karinzo paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Ferrari scores with a body shot.
Ferrari tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Karinzo tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Ferrari fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Karinzo is out of range.
Karinzo swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Ferrari moves in looking to clinch but Karinzo pushes him off.

Ferrari throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Karinzo's head.

Ferrari is looking to clinch but Karinzo is avoiding it.
Karinzo fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ferrari manages to avoid it.
Karinzo stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Ferrari.
Karinzo swats away the attempt to clinch by Ferrari.
Ferrari showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Karinzo.
Karinzo looks to score with a jab to the body but Ferrari is just out of range.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Karinzo is defended easily by Ferrari.
Ferrari throws a wild body kick that Karinzo sees coming a mile off.

Ferrari tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Karinzo paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Ferrari ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Karinzo moves away.
Ferrari leaves Karinzo with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Karinzo throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Karinzo tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ferrari was well out of range. Poor timing from Karinzo.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Ferrari checks a leg kick.
Karinzo misses with a low kick.
Karinzo misses with a double jab.
Jyn Karinzo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ferrari scores with a leg kick.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Ferrari.
Karinzo fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Ferrari.
Ferrari avoids the head kick by Karinzo.
Ferrari tries to clinch there but Karinzo circles away.

A low kick from Karinzo misses
and Ferrari counters with a low kick, right behind Karinzo 's knee.
Karinzo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ferrari's waist but Ferrari gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Karinzo off to one side.
Marcus Ferrari has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jyn Karinzo.
Karinzo throws a leg kick but Ferrari sees it coming and moves out of range.
Ferrari fails in his attempt to clinch.
Karinzo takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Ferrari fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Karinzo, pushing him back against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ferrari prevents a body shot from Karinzo.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Karinzo shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Ferrari manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Karinzo tries to free his leg and advance position but Ferrari is retaining full guard.

Karinzo seems to be working for a kimura but Ferrari defends the submission attempt.

Karinzo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ferrari keeps working.

Karinzo thows a huge punch but Ferrari dodges it nicely.
Karinzo prevents Ferrari from standing back up.
Ferrari on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ferrari tries to get out of the position.

Karinzo is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Ferrari has managed to free his arm - good work.
Karinzo trying to pass the guard but Ferrari defending well.
Karinzo passes to full mount!

Ferrari is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Karinzo tries to control but Ferrari wriggling away.
Karinzo punching from mount but Ferrari doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Karinzo throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Ferrari is squirming around, avoiding Karinzo's attempts to control the action.

Karinzo jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Ferrari is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Ferrari and Karinzo has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Ferrari is pushing Karinzo's head away, looking to escape. Karinzo manages to hold on to the position though.
Ferrari is not content to let Karinzo control the position.
Ferrari is trying to buck Karinzo off.

Karinzo wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Ferrari, who protects the arm well.
Jyn Karinzo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Karinzo looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Ferrari is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Karinzo has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Karinzo scores with a couple of short elbows.

Ferrari throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Karinzo shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jyn Karinzo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Ferrari has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
