Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mark Cote (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Gonzales (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Cote might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Fort minor: Remember the name. Gonzales has chosen Sikth as his entrance music. Mark Cote has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gonzales has closed the distance and engaged Cote in a clinch.
Cote wants to get back to striking at distance but Gonzales won't allow it.

Gonzales has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Cote uses from the top position.

Gonzales has his foot on Cote's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cote works his way back into a safe position though.

Cote slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gonzales is on top in guard.

Cote is working an open guard so Gonzales takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Cote leaves Gonzales with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Cote throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gonzales's waist but Gonzales gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cote off to one side.
Cote fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Gonzales scores with a head kick. Cote tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

It looks like Mark Cote has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Good leg kick by Gonzales there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Gonzales avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Gonzales throws a nice inside leg kick.
Gonzales feints and then cracks Cote's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Cote down.
Cote is breathing heavily.
Some wild striking there from Gonzales.
Gonzales throws a perfectly timed hook that sends Cote crashing down! Cote tries to stagger back to his feet but Gonzales just hammers him until the ref stops the fight! A confused Cote asks the ref what just happened. Poor fella.
