With a record of 19 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joe Hollis!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

James loads up on a big right hand but Hollis slips the punch.
James swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
James ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hollis moves away.

Alexander James seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

James sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether James might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.

James stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Hollis.

Hollis throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
James throws a hook to the side of Hollis's head but Hollis sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Hollis dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on James. That did some damage!

James with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Hollis to score with a decent uppercut.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! James crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Hollis - the referee stops the clock and James gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Hollis. James manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

That kick from Hollis tenderised James's leg. James is trying to keep his angry face on.

James looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Hollis.

James is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hollis.

and Hollis counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hollis pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces James back to the cage. Hollis follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
James throws a hook but Hollis blocks it.
Alexander James has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
James displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hollis throws out the jab.

And that's the end of the fight!
Joe Hollis comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hollis has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
