Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Harold Benedez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vasily Fedoseev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fedoseev has chosen Slipknot - Psychosocial as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Harold Benedez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vasily Fedoseev!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Dmitry Maklakov and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fedoseev throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Benedez.
Fedoseev scores with a decent looking hook.
Vasily Fedoseev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fedoseev lands a head shot.
Benedez misses with a takedown attempt - Fedoseev sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Benedez shoots in but Fedoseev avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Benedez wants to clinch up but Fedoseev keeps it at a distance.
Good exchange - Fedoseev coming out on top.
Benedez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Fedoseev's waist but Fedoseev gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Benedez off to one side.

Fedoseev jumps guard and drags Benedez to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Benedez postures up in Fedoseev's guard and throws a big left but Fedoseev blocks it.

Benedez is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Fedoseev working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Benedez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Benedez manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Fedoseev can do anything to dispel that myth.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Benedez postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Fedoseev is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Benedez, into his guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Harold Benedez will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Benedez gets tackled into the ropes by Fedoseev. Fedoseev maintains the clinch.

Benedez is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Fedoseev has escaped the position, nice work there.
Fedoseev pushes Benedez away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Benedez gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Benedez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
