The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ukkonen shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Smith tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ukkonen paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Ukkonen.
Smith tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Ukkonen lands some shots froms side control.
Ukkonen cracks Smith with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Ukkonen trying to control the position but Smith is working away.
Smith is trying to get back to his feet.

Smith is looking for a sweep.
Smith is pushing Ukkonen's head away, looking to escape. Ukkonen manages to hold on to the position though.

Smith wants to control but Ukkonen postures up.

Ukkonen wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Smith, who protects the arm well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smith is looking for a sweep.

Ukkonen tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ukkonen has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Ukkonen scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Smith to see if he's OK.

Ukkonen is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Smith looks calm but he's in trouble here. Ukkonen gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Smith is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Ukkonen lets go of the hold and Smith can pop his arm back in it's socket.
