The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
JinJu throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Stefaniak misses with a wild combination.
Stefaniak rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but JinJu moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Stefaniak stuffs the takedown attempt from JinJu. JinJu gets slowly back to his feet.

Stefaniak uses good head movement to avoid the hook from JinJu.
JinJu shoots in for a takedown but Stefaniak shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Stefaniak throws a right hand that JinJu ducks under and follows up with a left that JinJu also avoids with ease.

Franz Stefaniak is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

JinJu jabbing away but nothing is landing.
JinJu swings widly with a right hand
and Stefaniak counters with a stiff right hand.
JinJu tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
JinJu bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Stefaniak breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Stefaniak throws a right and a left that both miss.

JinJu is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Stefaniak's half guard.

JinJu not landing any meaningful shots this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
JinJu thows a huge punch but Stefaniak dodges it nicely.

Stefaniak tries to kick JinJu off but JinJu keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Stefaniak can do anything to dispel that myth.
JinJu thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
JinJu has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

JinJu slips a nice elbow through Stefaniak's hands, connecting with Stefaniak's forehead.

Stefaniak scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but JinJu manages to mount him!
JinJu postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Stefaniak looks a forlorn figure.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
JinJu lands a nice shot to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

JinJu shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Stefaniak napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Stefaniak wants to get back to his feet but JinJu drags him back down.

JinJu has hold of Stefaniak's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Stefaniak seems comfortable defending it but JinJu has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Stefaniak is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Stefaniak is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but JinJu couldn't care less - he's delighted!
