Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Cj Bower (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Choo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cj Bower!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 12 - 3, fighting out of Sydney, Daniel Choo!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Skip Squint and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bower with a lazy takedown attempt

and Choo counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Bower!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Bower wants to hold on but Choo pushes him away.
Choo content just to control the position here.
Bower reaches up and holds on to Choo to control the position.
Choo is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Bower can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Choo sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Choo trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Bower tries to lock up and control but Choo gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Choo pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Choo controlling from mount.
Bower working to try and regain half guard.

Choo tries to control but Bower wriggling away.
Bower is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Bower gets back to half guard.
Choo seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Bower moves into full guard.
Choo pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Bower is keeping the position for now.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Choo is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Bower is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Choo sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Bower's guard.
Choo slows the pace down in half guard.
Choo is looking to take a break and control but Bower is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Choo is looking for a kimura but Bower is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Choo to get the leverage.
Still in half guard, Choo seems content to control.
Bower is not content to let Choo control the position.
Choo looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Choo is keen to just control but Bower is a slippery customer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Nice takedown defense from Choo. No joy for Bower on that attempt.

and Choo decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bower's guard.
Choo trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Bower is trying to keep Choo in close.
Choo trying to control the position from guard on top but Bower is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bower wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Choo wants to control from the top but Bower keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Cj Bower wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Choo lands with a thumping leg kick.

Choo drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Bower regains half guard there - taking advantage of Choo's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Bower tries to get to full guard but Choo has control of the leg.

Choo works his way into side control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Choo controls the position.
Choo has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Bower!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bower sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Choo prevents Bower from improving his position.

Choo takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Bower manages to get to full guard.
Choo working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Bower keeping full guard, as Choo tries to pass.
Choo missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Choo is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Choo wants to pass the guard but Bower is keeping the position.
Choo postures up in Bower's guard and throws a big left but Bower blocks it.
Bower is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Choo stopping the sweep attempt from Bower.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Choo tries to free his leg and advance position but Bower is retaining full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Daniel Choo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Bower closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Bower lands in his opponent's guard.
Choo wants to improve his position but instead Bower has moved into half guard.
Choo is trying to maintain the position but Bower is very close to passing his half guard.
Bower content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Bower tries to pass the half guard into mount. Choo knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Bower is working hard here to advance position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Bower moves out of range as Choo throws a body kick.
Bower shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Choo but Choo pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Bower chopping away at his opponent's legs.

Choo darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Choo tries to pass the half guard into mount. Bower knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Choo wants to free his trapped foot but Bower is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Choo passes to side control.
Choo taking a breather here.
Cj Bower has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

A control attempt from Bower but he's now mounted!
Daniel Choo is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Daniel Choo has got the better of the ground game so far.

Choo is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Bower has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Choo lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Choo tries to control but Bower wriggling away.

Choo seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Bower is holding on tight.

Choo working for a guillotine from mount but Bower is in no mood to give up.
Choo prevents Bower from getting the reversal.

Choo swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Bower is now in Choo's guard. A big mistake from Choo there, giving up the dominant position!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bower passes Choo's left leg - he's now in half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Daniel Choo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Choo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
