Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Argo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Earnie Shavers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Argo tries to clinch but Shavers moves out of range.

and Shavers counters with a series of strikes. Argo will be more careful next time no doubt.

Shavers jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Argo walks away with a smile on his face. Shavers gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Shavers on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Shavers swings wildly with an uppercut but Argo uses good head movement to avoid it.

Shavers gets control of Argo's arms and successfully pulls guard. Shavers will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Shavers looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Argo is defending well. Shavers quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Argo has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Shavers celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
