Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kron Kenny!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Franco Lumens!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lumens leaves Kenny with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Lumens slaps away a takedown attempt from Kenny, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Kenny shoots in and drives through. Lumens sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kron Kenny. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Lumens enables Kenny to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Lumens manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Kenny wants to pass the guard but Lumens is keeping the position.
Kenny drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kenny jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Kenny won't allow Lumens to sweep him here.
Kenny is standing up over Lumens. Lumens looks to escape but Kenny dives into side control.
Lumens struggling a bit here.
Kenny has hold of Lumens's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Lumens tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Kenny cranks the arm and Lumens screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Lumens, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:03 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Kron Kenny!
