Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jay Marsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Turk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jay Marsh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chris Turk!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Robert Douchet and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turk changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Marsh decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
It looks like Marsh is going to stand back up.
Marsh wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Turk uses the opportunity to regain full guard.
Turk wants to sweep but no luck.
Turk should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Marsh would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Marsh tries to stand but Turk is controlling from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Marsh gets to his feet - Turk follows without any prompting.
Turk misses with a combination

and Marsh counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Marsh wants to stand but Turk is controlling his posture from full guard.
Turk looks gassed!

Marsh wants to stand and escape but instead Turk has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Turk trying to control but Marsh is working from the bottom.

Marsh is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Turk is controlling him.

Turk trying to control but Marsh is working from the bottom.
Marsh pulls Turk in close to prevent any damage.
Turk trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Turk prevents Marsh from getting back to his feet.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Marsh lands a really nice looking cross but Turk seems unphased.
Turk will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Marsh throws the left hand but Turk avoids the punch easily.
Turk throws a low kick but Marsh moves out of range easily.

Marsh rushes Turk and presses him up against the cage.

Marsh breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Marsh closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Turk's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Marsh stands up from Turk's guard - Marsh perhaps looking for a knockout.
Chris Turk is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Turk misses with a hook.
Turk misses with the body kick

and Marsh counters by moving into the clinch.

Marsh gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Turk.
Marsh lands a nice elbow.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Marsh digs a right hand underneath Turk's ribcage. Turk let out a lung full of air as it connected.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Marsh shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Marsh wants to stand up but Turk is controlling the position.
Turk wants to control but Marsh is keeping busy.

Marsh stands up from half guard.
Turk is breathing heavily.

Marsh shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Turk napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Marsh decides to stand back up. Marsh steps back and let's Turk get back to his feet.
Turk buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Marsh tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Turk paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Turk throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Marsh.
Jay Marsh is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Turk pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Marsh rushes Turk and presses him up against the cage.
Marsh lands a damaging elbow.

Marsh breaks the clinch.

Marsh gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Marsh escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Turk wants to clinch.

Turk gets tackled into the cage by Marsh. Marsh maintains the clinch.

Turk jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Marsh walks away with a smile on his face. Turk gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Marsh swinging wildly here.
Marsh scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Turk throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Marsh stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Turk moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Marsh shoots for a takedown but Turk saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Turk will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Chris Turk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Marsh goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Turk lands with a hook. Marsh tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Marsh moves away from the strike by Turk.
Marsh delivers a nice body kick.
Marsh blocks a leg kick.
Marsh tries to clinch but Turk moves out of range.
Turk fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Marsh dips to his left and cracks Turk with an uppercut!

Turk rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Marsh moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Turk takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Marsh throws a knee to the head but misses.
Marsh creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Turk's defenses.

Turk is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Jay Marsh has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Turk.

Marsh tries to land a knee to the head but Turk blocks with his arms.
Marsh lands an elbow that stopped Turk in his tracks for a moment.
Turk takes an elbow to the temple.


It looks like Chris Turk has been cut.

Marsh breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Marsh misses with a head kick.

Marsh clinches up against the cage.

Marsh is pressed up against the cage. Turk has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Marsh down to the mat. Marsh avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Marsh wants to clinch up but Turk keeps it at a distance.
Marsh works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Marsh looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Turk!

Marsh shoots in for a takedown but Turk shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Turk lands a nice looking kick to the body. Marsh takes a step back to recover.
Turk tries to bum rush Marsh with a series of wild strikes but Marsh uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Turk throws a series of punches but Marsh avoids them all with ease.
Jay Marsh is winning the standup battle so far.
Turk throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Marsh avoids the head kick by Turk.
Turk misses with an uppercut. Marsh saw that one coming.

Marsh clinches up with Turk and pushes him back against the cage.

Marsh breaks the clinch.
Turk misses with a hook.
Marsh shoots in but no luck this time.
Turk swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Turk throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Marsh fails to land with a series of punches.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Marsh has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Marsh clinches.

Marsh breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Chris Turk has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jay Marsh is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Marsh avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jay Marsh showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Marsh has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
