Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tito Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Velasquez has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Tito Velasquez has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jason Jones!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones circles away from the clinch attempt

and Jones counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Jones performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Jones prevents Velasquez from improving his position.
Velasquez is breathing heavily.
Jones seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Well, if Jones is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Jones thows a huge punch but Velasquez dodges it nicely.
Jones tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Velasquez.

Velasquez closes the distance and clinches up with Jones, looking for a takedown. Velasquez pushes Jones against the cage but Jones circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Tito Velasquez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jones shoots in looking for a takedown but Velasquez manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jones's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Jones tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Velasquez swivels and escapes.
Velasquez closes the distance looking to clinch

and Jones counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Velasquez's guard now.

Jones stands up and waves to Velasquez to follow him.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jones avoids the head kick by Velasquez.
Jones shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Velasquez pinned against the cage. Velasquez gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Jones decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Jones shoots in for a double leg but Velasquez sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Velasquez is looking to clinch but Jones is avoiding it.
Jones avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

and Jones counters with a nice double leg into side control. Velasquez won't be happy with that.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Jones stands up.
A left and a right from Velasquez both land. Nice combination.

and Jones counters with a nice body kick.
Velasquez shoots in but no luck this time.

and Jones decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Velasquez's guard.
Velasquez wants to get back to his feet but Jones is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Velasquez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Jones wanted to stand there but Velasquez had control of the position.

Jones stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Velasquez to get to his feet.
Velasquez tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jones paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Jones counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Velasquez's guard now.
Jones looking to sit in guard and control but Velasquez gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Jones wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Velasquez manages to pass to side control.
Jason Jones is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Velasquez wants to stand up but Jones is controlling the position.

Velasquez thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Jones moves into full guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Tito Velasquez has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Velasquez with a flurry of punches that miss.

Jason Jones comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
