Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Melvin Guillard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Gomez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Melvin Guillard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jose Gomez!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Robert Twigg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guillard misses with a series of wild punches.
Guillard fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Guillard stuffs the takedown attempt from Gomez. Gomez gets slowly back to his feet.
Guillard leaves Gomez with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Gomez looks for a takedown but Guillard sprawls well.
Melvin Guillard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jose Gomez.

Gomez shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Gomez tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Gomez wants to finish this one by submission but Guillard is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Gomez.

Gomez jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Guillard manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Guillard is pushing Gomez's head away, looking to escape. Gomez manages to hold on to the position though.
Gomez is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Guillard's shoulder. That is not cool.
Guillard tries to escape but Gomez is in control.

Gomez tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gomez has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gomez is looking to take a break and control but Guillard is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Gomez is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Gomez has an Americana. Guillard didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Gomez is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Gomez hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
