Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rory MacDonald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronny McNeil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Yves DeLean and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McNeil keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
McNeil pushes MacDonald away with a front kick.
MacDonald is trying hard to land a takedown here. McNeil sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

McNeil looks to score with a jab to the body but MacDonald is just out of range.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

McNeil throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

McNeil is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

McNeil scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
McNeil is looking to slow MacDonald down with leg kicks.

and McNeil counters with a lovely shot to the body.
McNeil tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. MacDonald manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

McNeil darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
MacDonald is trying to maintain the position but McNeil is very close to passing his half guard.
McNeil wants to stand up but MacDonald has a hold of him and won't allow it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
MacDonald is looking to control McNeil's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can MacDonald avoid being mounted?
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


McNeil feints a jab promting MacDonald to slip. McNeil then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. MacDonald slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
McNeil buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
McNeil scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. MacDonald doesn't seem bothered though.
McNeil misses with a wild combination.
McNeil lands a jab to the nose.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for MacDonald. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
McNeil tries to clinch up.
MacDonald shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with McNeil but McNeil pushes him off and we're back to square one.
McNeil misses with the combination.

McNeil slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

MacDonald scores with a couple of body punches from the bottom.
McNeil showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
MacDonald not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
MacDonald manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. McNeil manages to get himself to full guard.

MacDonald is pressing down on McNeil's thigh, looking to free his foot. McNeil is holding on for now.

MacDonald takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
MacDonald looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rory MacDonald. That's going to take a lot out of him.
MacDonald has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from MacDonald there as he acknowledges the shot.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
McNeil dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on MacDonald. That did some damage!
MacDonald moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
McNeil wants to clinch up but MacDonald keeps it at a distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ronny McNeil showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


A really sloppy takedown attempt there from McNeil.
MacDonald changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McNeil tries to avoid it but MacDonald manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McNeil to the ground. McNeil escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
No joy there for MacDonald, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

and McNeil makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
McNeil throws a one two combo.
McNeil is looking to clinch.
MacDonald takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

McNeil takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Let's hope that McNeil has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Rory MacDonald has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

McNeil throws a nice looking combination but MacDonald bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Ronny McNeil is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
McNeil fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Ronny McNeil comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well McNeil has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
