Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brock Lesnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edson Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lesnar comes into the arena with Master of Puppets blaring out of the sound system. Edson Santos told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Edson Santos!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santos looks for a takedown but Lesnar sprawls well.
Santos fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Lesnar moves into range and clinches up with Santos.

Lesnar has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Santos regains guard immediately.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Lesnar wants to get up but he can't break Santos's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Santos had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Lesnar defends it easily.
Lesnar has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Lesnar would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Santos is working an open guard so Lesnar takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Lesnar decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Lesnar has closed the distance and engaged Santos in a clinch.

Lesnar prevents a takedown attempt there.
Brock Lesnar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Edson Santos.

Lesnar pulls Santos into guard.
Lesnar can't keep his opponent in guard - Santos advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lesnar looks like he's trying to stand up.
Santos wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lesnar keeps working.

Santos working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lesnar doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lesnar manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Santos is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Santos pushes a forearm under Lesnar 's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Lesnar is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
