Soler thows a left - swing and a miss!
Tumenbayev misses with a takedown
and Soler decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Tumenbayev's guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Soler decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Soler shoots in and bounces Tumenbayev off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Soler is breathing heavily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Soler seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Soler throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Tumenbayev tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Soler is in Tumenbayev's guard.
Soler stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tumenbayev swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Soler stands up and waves to Tumenbayev to follow him.

Soler prevents Tumenbayev from getting the reversal.

Soler knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tumenbayev on the ground.

Soler is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Tumenbayev is defending well though. Soler let's go of the attempt for now.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Tumenbayev doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Soler counters with a nice double leg into side control. Tumenbayev won't be happy with that.
Soler is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Tumenbayev will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Soler stands up.
Soler gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Fidel Soler overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Soler really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Tumenbayev.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
What can Tumenbayev do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
