The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maddox misses with a head kick.
Maddox misses with a hook
and Stompe counters with a good, hard body kick but Maddox shrugs it off.
A jab from Maddox finds it's way through Stompe's defenses.
Stompe checks a leg kick.
Maddox chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Stompe can pounce on him.
The fighters circling - Maddox throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Stompe.
Stompe tries to work over Maddox's front leg with a kick but Maddox checks it.
Stompe pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Stompe avoids a punch combination nicely.
Maddox throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Stompe throws a solid leg kick but Maddox takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Stompe.
Stompe slips under a jab.
Stephan Stompe is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Maddox just misses with a punch to the body.

Maddox scores a takedown into full mount!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Maddox lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Poor strikes thrown by Maddox there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Maddox has hold of Stompe's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Stompe manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Maddox is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Stompe can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Stompe wants to hold on but Maddox pushes him away.

Stompe takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Maddox's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
