Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Christian Jacobs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jon Memph!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Lou da Vinci and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Memph as Jacobs shoots in.

Jacobs bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Jacobs misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Jacobs is looking to take a break and control but Memph is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Memph is pushing Jacobs's head away, looking to escape. Jacobs manages to hold on to the position though.
Memph seems a little lost for a moment, as Jacobs dominates the positioning.
Jacobs creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Memph sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Jacobs remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Memph really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jacobs. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jacobs lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Memph hold on?!
Jacobs slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Jacobs has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Jacobs throws a right hand that Memph ducks under and follows up with a left that Memph also avoids with ease.
Jacobs shoots in for a takedown but Memph shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Jacobs chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Memph can pounce on him.

The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Jacobs for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.
Jacobs drops down looking for an ankle pick but Memph pulls his leg out and moves away.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Jacobs.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Christian Jacobs. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Memph is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Christian Jacobs overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Jacobs has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Memph!
Memph is breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jacobs cracks Memph with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Jacobs is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Jacobs!
