The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fintherfray fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Welin stuffs the takedown attempt from Fintherfray. Fintherfray gets slowly back to his feet.
Fintherfray closes this distance looking for a takedown but Welin circles away.
Sam Welin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Orfentile Fintherfray.

Welin shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Welin looking to secure an arm triangle but Fintherfray defends it well.
Fintherfray is working to get back to half guard.
Welin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Fintherfray on the ground.
Fintherfray is trying to escape the mount but Welin keeps good control and instead manages to take Fintherfray's back.
You can see the frustration on Fintherfray's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Even with his hooks in, Welin manages to miss with strikes from the back.
Fintherfray can't escape the position.
Fintherfray is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Welin controls the action.
Welin tries to keep control of the position but Fintherfray is staying busy.
Fintherfray manages to reverse the position and now he's in Welin's guard. Nice work there by Fintherfray.

Welin is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Welin has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Fintherfray can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Welin is breathing heavily.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Fintherfray has his takedown stuffed

and Welin counters with a single leg into guard. Fintherfray didn't expect that.

Welin drops back looking for a leg! Fintherfray is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Fintherfray manages to kick Welin off! Welin jumps back into Fintherfray's guard.

Fintherfray has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Welin should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Fintherfray has tightened it up now! Welin should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
