The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lighty shoots in for a double leg but Trenton sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Lighty fakes the leg kick and cracks Trenton in the body.
Trenton throws a right and a left that both miss.
Trenton wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Lighty fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Nice jab there from Trenton.
Trenton jabs Lighty to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Trenton lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Trenton.
No joy there for Lighty, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Trenton throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Trenton just misses with a punch to the body.
Lighty lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Trenton circles away quickly and effectively.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lighty takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Trenton lands a nice shot that snaps Lighty's head back.
Lighty misses with the combination.
Lighty throws a head kick that misses.
Lighty will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Lighty shoots in looking for a takedown but Trenton manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Lighty's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Lighty changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Trenton tries to avoid it but Lighty manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Trenton to the ground. Trenton escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Trenton tries to bum rush Lighty with a series of wild strikes but Lighty uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Lighty. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Lighty takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Lighty looks to land a strike but Trenton avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lighty accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Lighty postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Trenton has momentary wrist control but Lighty slips an elbow through the middle.
