Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Bertie Bertles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jan Kowalski!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, William Gold and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kowalski shoots in looking for a takedown. Bertles tries to sprawl out of it but Kowalski keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bertles manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Bertles looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kowalski is fending him off so far but Bertles persists. Nope, Kowalski circles away and we're back to standing.
Bertles shoots in for a takedown but Kowalski shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Bertles pushes Kowalski up against the cage in a clinch.

Kowalski turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Kowalski working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Kowalski is trying to get an arm triangle but Bertles is defending well.

Kowalski tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kowalski has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Bertles is trying to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Kowalski thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Kowalski has hold of Bertles's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Bertles tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Kowalski cranks the arm and Bertles screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Bertles, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Jan Kowalski!
